Lilac And Honey was a delight to paint. Here, I was eager to explore a new colour palette - integrating golds, yellow ochres, and natural earth tones with the concept of bees and the important role they play in the world.
What started out as a beautiful, loose, and messy first few mixed media layers slowly became more refined and evolved into a beautiful, colourful piece. Oil paint glazes and opaques were then added for a luxurious finish.
